All my good intentions to post here just keep going out the door. So much has happened since I last posted.
Christmas was good and the kids got everything they wanted. Chayton got a playstation 2 and some games and Cailyn got doll babies (as if we needed more of those here).
January was pretty much uneventful.
February -- Cailyn had her first dentist appointment -- ALREADY -- and her top 4 teeth were decayed and had to come out. I've been beating myself up and blaming myself for this since. Logically, I know that it wasn't my fault. I did NOTHING different with her than I did with Chayton (other than breastfeeding of course) and Chayton's teeth are fine (he just actually had his very first dental exam at age 5 on March 3) and his teeth are GREAT!! The dentist kept saying it was the breastmilk and juice that decayed Cailyn's teeth, but I am not convinced of that. Chayton STILL takes a cup of milk to bed with him (he just sleeps better) and he loves his juice......his teeth are great. I believe that Cailyn had an underlying problem with her teeth (soft enamel or something) and along with that, the juice and breastmilk just sped up the decay time. It's not like she gets alot of juice though. Her bottom teeth are fine, so if it was the juice/breastmilk that decayed her top 4 teeth why are her bottom ones not affected.
A funny for February is that on Feb. 13th Chayton's kindergarten class exchanged Valentine's and one of the little girl's in his class gave Chayton some gum (not sure what kind it was but it was a small piece - kind of like trident looks). He knows that gum is something that mommy does NOT allow so he waited until after class (of course he had it out of the wrapper and holding it in his hand at the time) to ask if he could have it. I told him to go ahead and chew it but I didn;t want to see it leave his mouth (unless it was going in the trash) and that he had best not swallow it. Anyways, I look down and as soon as he puts it in his mouth, he immediately spits it out -- he looks at me and motions me to bend over and says "mommy, this taste likes farts". OMG! I almost pee'd my pants laughing at that one. I just told him to throw it in the trash. Right out of the mouths of babes!!
March -- This month has been something else. Chayton had his first dental appt. on March 3rd. Cailyn had her top 4 teeth extracted on March 6 (she had to be put asleep for this).
Cailyn has developed such an immense vocabulary now........her words/sentences includes --
mommy
daddy
bubby
this
that
here
mine
I want
I want this
cup
when asked where daddy is -- work
when asked where bubby is -- school
Maw Maw
bye bye
night night
Pappy
Bear
(and Pappy Bear together for Chayton's bear)
Annie (the dog)
kitty
baby
I want this on
I know I am forgetting alot of them --
her most recent is HEY -- everytime she wants something it's HEY, HEY, HEY over and over
She loves turning the tv channel or turning the tv off on Chayton when he is watching cartoons or playing playstation.
This morning (3-27) she came to me in the kitchen and was pulling at her jammie bottoms and diaper and said "I pee" I asked her if she had to pee and we went to the potty, where she proceeded to sit for a few minutes AND then she pee'd in the potty. How AWESOME is that!! I can't believe that she is doing that already. I am not ready for my baby to be a biggie girl yet. My SIL bought her some training panties last weekend at Wal-Mart and we put them on her over her diaper. She just loves them.
Chayton is doing great in school and is starting to read. OMG! I can't believe my baby is almost finished with his kindergarten school year, much less the fact that he is now reading. I just wanna cry!!
